This week marks the first full week of Techtober in Arkansas. Techtober is an emphasis on tech events in Arkansas during the month of October.

Some of this week’s events include IMB BlueMix Workshop at The Venture Center , the UALR Entrepreneurship Panel, and Tinkerfest 2.0 presented by 3M in Bentonville.

Additional Techtober events include the Arkansas Acacemy of Computing’s Entrepreneur Panel Discussion, the Computer Science Leadership Summit by the Arkansas STEM Coalition, and Creative Cocktails hosted by the NWA Creative Network.

The past week has seen much success for Arkansans. Pedisand was featured on and won its category the Next Big Thing contest on NBC’s Today Show. The startup was awarded a contract with QVC and will begin preparing to present on the network.

Starting Thursday nights, the best designers in the state gathered for the fourth annual Made by Few. By all accounts it was a popular event.

Tim Freeman from HARK does a recap of the first day. The HARK team was covering the event throughout each day. They more videos on their Facebook page.
