Cook: Ross Sharpens Contrasts With Hutchinson In New Ad

Coming into the home stretch of this election the campaigns continue to sharpen their positive and contrasting messages.

The latest example is Mike Ross’s new TV ad, “On Our Side,” which you can view at the bottom of this post.

The first part of the ad covers Ross’s time as a small business owner and how he worked as a bi-partisan legislator to improve education.

The second part contrasts Ross with Hutchinson by, in part, covering the Republican nominee’s time at Homeland Security under George W. Bush.

This is one area of Hutchinson’s past that hasn’t been brought up in great detail this election. A sentence from the website, www.therealasa.com sums up Hutchinson’s time in the Bush administration:

During the 25 months Asa Hutchinson was Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Border and Transportation Security more than one million illegal immigrants entered the United States.

This issue came up in 2006 and as I recall it was devastating to Hutchinson. Heading into the final week and half of this contentious election, I’m sure we’ll hear much more on this subject.
