A pair of Osceola City Council races have developed as the municipal filing period ends its final week.
Incumbent Joe Guy turned in paperwork Friday to run for the Ward 2, Position 1 seat on the Osceola City Council. Guy is joined by Dot Pollack, who filed earlier in the three-week long period.
A third candidate also filed Friday to seek another seat on the Osceola City Council. Michael Shane Nichols filed for the Ward 3, Position 1 seat on the council. Nichols joins incumbent Jeannette Walker and Sally Wilson in the race so far.
A race also developed this week for mayor in Black Oak.
Henry Edgar Dunigan and Peggy Williams turned in paperwork to seek the job of mayor in the small Craighead County town.
