Talk Business & Politics will launch two new web sites to provide more local coverage of news in Northeast and Northwest Arkansas.

NEA Talk Business & Politics will be powered at TalkBusiness.net/NEA and NEA.TalkBusiness.net and will launch on Monday, July 28.

Michael Wilkey and Paul Holmes will serve as correspondents in the region based out of Jonesboro. Wilkey is a former reporter with the Jonesboro Sun and Holmes is the former editor of Northeast Arkansas Business Today.

“With this expansion in the region, we will provide more local business and political coverage in what is certainly an important area of the state with growing influence,” said Talk Business & Politics editor-in-chief Roby Brock.

“The Jonesboro to Paragould corridor has created a major nucleus of commerce, especially with the growth of healthcare, banking, and Arkansas State University’s presence. Nearby, you have Big River Steel adding to the region’s manufacturing base and Jonesboro’s industrial park is thriving. Politically, Northeast Arkansas is among the most competitive in the state between Republicans and Democrats for local and legislative seats,” Brock added.

On Monday, July 28, Talk Business & Politics will release the results of a poll conducted among Craighead County voters regarding a local “wet-dry” issue that is striving to make the November ballot. Voters were also polled on several economic issues within the region and those results will be released next week.

Talk Business & Politics will expand its content partnership arrangement with KASU-FM 91.9, a NPR member station located at Arkansas State University. TB&P airs a weekly half-hour radio program Saturdays at noon on KASU, and will provide more news content to the station through TalkBusiness.net/NEA and NEA.TalkBusiness.net.

Talk Business & Politics will also be a content partner with KAIT Ch. 8, the ABC TV affiliate based in Jonesboro. The two news groups will join forces to provide more business and political news in the region.

Through an existing content partnership with The City Wire and KUAF-FM 91.3, Talk Business & Politics will also add a Northwest Arkansas home page — TalkBusiness.net/NWA and NWA.TalkBusiness.net.

“We’ve had a longstanding relationship with both of these partners and through our new web site, we will be providing more of their news to our readers who are looking to keep up with a daily dose of content from the Northwest region of the state,” Brock said. “We will also produce more existing content from Northwest Arkansas through our existing team of talented writers.”

TalkBusiness.net/NWA and NWA.TalkBusiness.net will also launch on Monday, July 28.
