June kicks off with art parties, International Festival, and Art of Wine

June will get off to a busy start as Northwest Arkansas hosts an UpStream Art event, The International Festival, Art of Wine, an evening with Third Day, and more. Get up and get out of the house before it gets too hot.

UpStream Art Reception/Trail Mix Party
UpStream Art, in conjunction with Artosphere, will host a month-long show at the Fayetteville Underground that will culminate with a closing reception on June 1.

The reception will begin at the Fayetteville Underground Art Studio in Fayetteville's Downtown Square at 3 p.m. Drinks and snacks will be provided to visitors while they browse the collections and chat with the artists. From there, participants will set out on the tour, ending at Arsaga’s at the Depot around 5 p.m. Guests are then invited to take part in the  Artosphere’s Trail Mix activities which will be held on the Fayetteville bike trail from 5 to 7 p.m.

The International Festival
Downtown Rogers will transform into a colorful, cultural center on June 5 as the city hosts the 14th Annual International Festival . Usually held in October, this year's event has moved up a few months, bringing with it all of the fun, food, fashion, and entertainment from previous years.

More than 50 countries' cultures will be represented at the event, giving visitors a snapshot of the diverse population of Northwest Arkansas. Festival-goers will enjoy sampling a range of cuisines at Food Fest, as dozens of vendors and food trucks will be on-hand serving up delicious food from their respective countries.

A Kids Zone will also be open, featuring fun games, a petting zoo, prizes and more. The 7th annual International Fashion Show will showcase traditional attire and music from countries around the world. It will begin at 1 pm.

The International Festival will open at 11 a.m. and last until 6 p.m. For more information, call 619-3190.

Art of Wine
The Walton Arts Center will host its 13th annual "Art of Wine" celebration June 12-14. Festivities will kick off on Thursday, June 12 with the premier "Winemaker's Dinner" at 6 p.m. The exclusive evening will feature a five-course meal, expertly paired with top wines. An auction, featuring art, wine, an autographed Doobie Brothers guitar, and other big ticket items will also be held. Individual tickets are $200.

The "Uncorked: Friday Night Tasting" event will be held on June 13, beginning at 7 p.m. The party will offer guests the chance to sample more than 400 wine varieties, as well as delicious food from the area. Tickets are $80.

The "Premier Tasting" will be held on June 14 at the Walton Arts Center beginning at 6 p.m. It will feature a wide-array of wines, including some of the most exclusive bottles on the market today. Fine food prepared by top NWA chefs will served and a silent auction will also be held. Tickets are $150.

All events will be held at the Walton Arts Center. Proceeds from the festival support programming for the organization. Tickets for each event may be purchased online. Must be 21 or older to purchase.

An Evening with Third Day
New Beginnings Children's Home will host "An Evening with Third Day" on June 13. The outdoor concert will feature Grammy award-winning band Third Day, whose hits have included "Show Me Your Glory,” “I Believe,” “Cry Out to Jesus,” “Call My Name,” and more.

The concert will be held at Horton Farms in Gravette. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Gates will open at  5:30 p.m., with the concert to follow at 7 p.m.

Concessions will be available at the door. No outside coolers or alcohol will be permitted.

General admission is $35 in advance or $45 at the gate (cash only). Special VIP seating is available for $75. All proceeds from the concert support New Beginning Children's Homes, which "provides 24 hour residential care to children who have been victims of family violence, neglect, and or physical abuse."

Crystal Bridges hosts Oklahoma Dance Film Festival viewing
Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art welcomes visitors to enjoy an evening on Walker Landing with "Out of Sight," a collection of short dance films from the Oklahoma Dance Film Festival.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the evening will feature films from the festival, as well as live performances by Tulsa Modern Movement (TuMM) and Out on a Limb Dance Collective. All playing on the idea of sight, each component of the evening will focus on themes such "revealing and concealing," "positive and negative space," and "here and gone."
