The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Benton County, Arkansas

by Kreed ([email protected]) 170 views

Benton County Arkansas has not always been the hard-to-reach, backwoods, quiet setting that some may envision of our early days.  Bank robbers, murderers, and generally questionable characters liberally dotted the countryside, and occasionally stunned the Benton County community through outrageous misdeeds of the highest magnitude.

Leah Whitehead, president of the Benton County Historical Society, will explore some of the good and not so good characters in our unique Benton County history.
Governors to claim jumpers, to the last legal hanging in the county, Whitehead will expose many interesting aspects of an impulsive and sometimes explosive Benton County past.
