Former President Bill Clinton is coming to Arkansas in early April and plans to headline fundraisers for Congressional candidates Pat Hays and James Lee Witt.
President Clinton will be in Hot Springs on Saturday, April 5 to headline a fundraiser for James Lee Witt, who is running for the Fourth District seat. The fundraising reception is Saturday evening at the Arlington Hotel and it costs $250 to attend. Witt was Clinton’s FEMA Director during his presidency.
On Sunday, April 6, Clinton is attending a fundraiser for former North Little Rock Mayor Pat Hays, who is seeking the Second District Congressional seat. The Hays fundraiser starts at 5 pm at the Argenta Community Theater in North Little Rock and the cost to attend is $250.
It’s clear President Clinton plans to campaign heavily for Arkansas Democrats this cycle. Last year, he headlined a fundraising event with Senator Mark Pryor and I suspect in the near future Clinton will also do a major fundraising event with Mike Ross.
Now, if Democrats could get Hillary Clinton to campaign in Arkansas as well, that would be quite a coup.
