Former Insurance Regulator Forms Consulting Group

Former Insurance Commissioner and former CEO of the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission, Julie Benafield, has formed a new government affairs consulting firm called The Benafield Group, PLLC.

Benafield, who has also served as a regulatory affairs specialist for UnitedHealthcare, will assist in health insurance regulation and law for clients to offer government affairs help with local, state, and federal insurance and regulation.

“The federal government and state governments are implementing some of the broadest regulations on businesses and local governments in our lifetime as a result of the PPACA. My experience in healthcare insurance and government regulation makes me a valuable resource for an organization, large or small, to gain insight and understanding of the PPACA so that they make the right decisions on how to implement this new program,” said Benafield.
