The concessionaire partner of the University of Arkansas athletics department has applied for a license that would make beer and wine available for sale to club ticket seat holders at University of Arkansas football games, beginning in the 2014 season.

According to a UA news release published Wednesday, Sodexo Inc., the concessionaire for Razorback athletics, will offer beer and wine for purchase in the east indoor club, south indoor club and the indoor dining area of the south outdoor club.

Arkansas would be the eighth school in the Southeastern Conference where alcohol is available in stadium club areas for on-campus events.

Sales for the upcoming football season will be subject to the approval of a license application submitted by Sodexo to the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).

The purchase, consumption and possession of alcohol will be restricted to patrons 21 years of age or older in limited areas. No sales or consumption of alcohol will be permitted in outdoor seating sections or other public area.

Sodexo has also submitted applications to the ABC for Bud Walton Arena and Baum Stadium, although no current plans exist to sell alcohol at those venues.
