J.B. Hunt and Wal-Mart exchange compliments, the Arkansas GOP makes a new hire, and a Hot Springs manufacturer bounces into its 90th year.

WAL-MART HONORS J.B. HUNT
J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. has been recognized by Walmart for Innovative Excellence in Transportation for 2012.

In a letter of commendation to J.B. Hunt, Rob Kusiciel, Vice President Walmart Inbound Transportation, and Ken Braunbach, Senior Director of Transportation, wrote: “We are aware of the operational challenges and financial pressures the transportation industry continues to face. Your ability to rise above these obstacles has won our utmost trust and confidence. We look forward to continuing our rewarding partnership for the years to come.”

ARKANSAS GOP HIRES NEW COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
The Republican Party of Arkansas has hired David Ray as its new Communications Director. He replaces Katherine Vasilos, who left for public affairs-public relations firm Noble Strategies.

Ray graduated from University of the Ozarks in Clarksville in 2007 and brings a variety of campaign experience to his new post. He worked for the National Republican Senate Committee in 2008, then worked for the successful Virginia Attorney General campaign of Ken Cuccinelli in 2009.

Since then, Ray has managed several campaigns, including for Congressman Tim Huelskamp of Kansas (2010), Todd P’Pool for Attorney General of Kentucky (2011), and Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle of New York (2012).
