Summit Medical Center announces new medical officers

Dr. David Busby was inducted as the chief of staff Summit Medical Center during a January medical staff meeting.

Busby is a practicing physician and medical director of the Wound Healing Center at Summit. He graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and studied medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Busby completed specialized training in the field of wound care.

Also inducted as medical officers for Summit were Stephen Carney, M.D., vice chief of Staff; Javed Rana, M.D., secretary; and Brett Whatcott, D.O., immediate past chief of staff.  

Summit Medical Center is a fully accredited, 103-bed acute care hospital that is based in Van Buren and operated by Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates.
