Power Technology, Inc. has acquired the business of KLASTECH GmbH, a German-based laser manufacturing operation. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.
Little Rock-based Power Technology, which was recently profiled in Talk Business Arkansas, is a global leader in laser manufacturing.
KLASTECH manufactures advanced diode pumped solid state (DPSS) lasers for metrology, holography, bio-fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy, and semiconductor inspection applications.
“The addition of KLASTECH allows Power Technology to provide advanced, cutting edge, laser solutions to our customers” said Walter Burgess, Vice President and Owner at Power Technology. “We are excited not only about the great products KLASTECH adds, but also the extensive innovative laser knowledge the KLASTECH team adds to Power Technology.”
Power Technology will retain the KLASTECH organization in its entirety. Production and sales of the KLASTECH laser line will continue in the company’s German location in Dortmund.
“Becoming part of Power Technology is a major step forward in KLASTECH’s development as it continues to enhance its reputation as a leading German single frequency DPSS laser manufacturer,” said Christopher J. Madin, CEO KLASTECH. “Power Technology is a well respected, long standing laser manufacturer of cutting edge diode laser solutions. KLASTECH’s proprietary iMAT® DPSS laser technology will add a new dimension to the already extensive PTI product portfolio.”
