Deadline Extended For 2013 Small Business Week Award Nominations

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has extended the deadline for nominations for the 2013 Small Business Week Awards.  All nominations are due January 31, 2013.

The Arkansas SBA Office is accepting nominations for the Arkansas Small Business Person of the year and nine other categories of business excellence.

Criteria includes staying power as evidenced by a minimum of three years in business, growth in number of employees, increase in sales, innovativeness of product or service, response to adversity and contributions to community-oriented projects.

The Arkansas award winner will go on to compete for National Small Business Person of the Year award.  Any individual or organization may submit nominations, including trade and professional associations and business organizations.

The Arkansas District Office is looking for nominations in the following categories:

  • Small Business Exporter of the Year
  • SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Arkansas Family-Owned Business of the Year
  • Entrepreneurial Success Award
  • Financial Services Champion of the Year
  • Home-Based Business Champion of the Year
  • Minority Small Business Champion of the Year
  • Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year
  • Women in Business Champion of the Year
