Graduating seniors in the College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith continue to demonstrate a high level of student performance and success by scoring in the top 20th percentile in a national assessment.

According to a UAFS statement, UAFS business students continue to perform well in the major field test (MFT) administered through Educational Testing Service (ETS).

Four UAFS students scored high enough to be inducted into the College of Business Top Ten Club, an honorary award recognizing business students who score in the top 10 percent nationally. They are Kyle Arnold, a business administration major from Rudy; Michelle Doville and Christina Freeman, both accounting majors from Fort Smith; and Hailey Hibbard, a business administration major from Cedarville.

More than 80,000 graduating seniors from almost 600 universities in multiple countries took the MFT for this last reporting cycle.

UAFS officials said the overall results were encouraging since the business faculty had recently implemented curricular changes in these areas, and improved student performance indicates these instructional modifications are producing desirable results.

ETS provides schools with comparative data, enabling participating universities, potential employers, parents, and future students to compare a program’s effectiveness with other business schools nationwide. The nationally administered ETS assessment test contains 120 multiple-choice questions designed to measure a student’s subject knowledge and the ability to apply facts, concepts, theories and analytical methods.

ETS, founded in 1947, is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of products and services to advance learning worldwide.
