Sam T. Sicard, president and CEO of First Bank Corp. of Forth Smith, confirmed Friday Guy Cable resigned as president of First National Bank of Rogers, effective Dec. 21.

FBC is the parent holding company to FNB of Rogers, as well as First National Bank of Fort Smith, Citizens’ Bank & Trust Co. of Van Buren and National Bank of Sallisaw (Okla.).

Sicard said he was surprised by Cable’s resignation, but called the split amicable.

“Guy is a good man,” Sicard said.

Sicard said the search for Cable’s replacement is under way, and also stressed his departure departure won’t affect FBC’s operations in Rogers.

“We’re taking our time to do the search right and find the right person,” Sicard said. “Our main focus is to let our staff and customers know that we’re committed to doing the same things in Northwest Arkansas we’ve been doing.”

Sicard said he and some members of FBC’s management team likely will spend more time in Rogers until a new hire is made.

“There won’t be any major changes to the way we do business,” Sicard said. “It’s only a little more than an hour away from Fort Smith, and we’re already up there quite a bit.”
