The Talk Politics team has created two spreadsheets highlighting the Republican and Democratic challengers, as well as Green Party, Libertarian Party and Independent candidates in all 135 legislative races.
In the House, there are 55 contested fall elections. Of those 55, 48 are contested between Democrats and Republicans with an occasional alternative party candidate in the mix.
All told, there are 7 independent candidates filed for State House races, 2 Libertarian candidates, and 2 Green Party candidates.
Currently, there are 18 contested State Senate races. There are Republicans and Democrats only in 16 of those 18
Sens. Joyce Elliott (D) and Stephanie Flowers (D) have Libertarian fall opponents. There is a Libertarian candidate in the District 13 race between Sen. Mike Fletcher (D) and GOP challenger Alan Clark. There is an Independent candidate in the District 18 race between Sen. Missy Irvin (R) and Democratic challenger Zac White.
