On Friday, I reviewed "The Help" and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" on KARZ-TV’s morning show.
"The Help" stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Sissy Spacek. Stone plays a recent college graduate who returns to her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi and decides to write a book about the African-American housekeepers who tend to the white, upper-middle households of the town. Davis and Spencer play the housekeepers who decide to share their stories with Stone. The movie is based on a best selling novel by Kathyrn Stockett.
"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" is a prequel/reboot of the original series of "Planet of the Apes" films. It stars James Franco, John Lithgow and Brian Cox. Franco plays a scientist searching for a cure for Alzheimer’s who tests his experimental drugs on apes. The drug works and give the apes human intelligence causing major problems, to put it lightly.
The above is just the synopsis of the films. To hear what I thought about these movies, just click on the image below.
