Abby Johnson, author and abortion-opponent, will address a public forum on abortion Tuesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at
Immanuel First Baptist Church in Little Rock.
“We’re very pleased that Abby Johnson can join us for this important event,” said Family Council President Jerry Cox. “We’re expecting several hundred people to turn out to hear her speak, and I know they won’t be disappointed.”
Cox said he hopes this event will give his organization and others a more global perspective on the abortion debate. “All around, this is just a good opportunity for those of us who have been doing pro-life work for a long time to get to talk to someone who is involved in the same sort of work on a more national level,” Cox said. “We have everyone from adoption advocates to counselors to political activists coming together to make this event possible. It really is a group effort.” Cox said Abby Johnson will be available to address members of the press at two brief press conferences during the day on Tuesday.
Cox said the forum on Tuesday evening is open to all members of the public. “We want as many people as possible to come hear what Abby has to say about her journey to where she is now. I don’t think anybody who attends will leave unchanged.”
