Little Rock-based Heifer International’s mission is to end world hunger and poverty while caring for the earth. Recently, Heifer had a groundbreaking and dedication for its newest exhibit at its interactive educational center.
However, this exhibit is not inside a building. It is outdoors and will provide a unique, hands-on learning experience for urban gardeners.
The education garden showcases how to grow a variety of seasonal crops in small planting beds that are a model for productive gardening techniques. For schoolchildren or adults, the urban garden will allow some of the 80,000 visitors to Heifer a chance to plant and harvest nature’s wonders.
