Arkansas News Bureau columnist John Brummett explores Cong. John Boozman’s best and simplest strategy for winning his race against incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln:

The only thing John Boozman needs to do whenever Blanche Lincoln gains a few points on him in a tracking poll is go on television with a commercial saying she cast the deciding vote for Obamacare.

If you can lay your hands on video of the president giving her a little hug and saying he could not have done it without her, then you can plunge her instantly back to the low-30s and thrust yourself up to the mid-50s.

That’s where our bureau’s Mason-Dixon poll put the race in a survey conducted last Friday through Tuesday. As it happened, Boozman’s campaign had unveiled during that polling period a little video of the Barack-Blanche hug.

I suspect the margin would have been, oh, 12 points, not 21, absent that commercial.

In the immortal words of Danny Ford, this is not rocket surgery.

Brummett uses more of his column to lay out possible post-election scenarios for Lincoln, Boozman, Arkansas voters and the media.  You can read his full take here.
