Former President Bill Clinton will return to Arkansas next week to stump for embattled incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln.
Clinton campaigned strategically for Lincoln in her tough Democratic primary battle against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter. Many political observers credit his late high-profile rally as giving Lincoln enough edge to push past Halter in earning the nomination for another term.
Clinton will join Lincoln at a Sept. 8 event in Little Rock to commemorate her one-year anniversary as chairwoman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, which the Senator has touted as a major reason to re-elect her. Public polls show Lincoln badly trailing GOP nominee Cong. John Boozman.
