The recent Earth Day festival in downtown North Little Rock was a revival of sorts.  Participants were re-energized about caring for the environment and wise use of the planet’s resources.  This was the seventh year for the festival, which is the state’s largest environmental event.

It was hosted by the Arkansas Earth Day Foundation and this year’s theme was “Gateway to Green.”

Festival Chair Jennifer Oglesby Holman said the theme “Gateway to Green” implied an open door to environmental education and awareness for those who attended from little astronauts to possible future farmers.  All sorts of exhibits and booths help spread that message.  Plus festival organizers make sure everything has a local flavor.
